Singapore: Gramophone The Music Store at Specialists Centre will be moving to Scotts Shopping Centre at #B1-27 next to Scotts Picnic in early October 2005. Gramophone is one of the more popular music chain stores in Singapore. With its humble beginnings at Raffles Place MRT shopping arcade, it has since expanded to Paragon, Capitol Centre, and OUB Centre. Gramophone is one of the few music stores that trades second-hand CDs, DVDs, VCDs.

Update Nov 2005: Gramophone opens a new outlet at Centrepoint opposite Specialists Centre. Located at #04-12, the new outlet is next to Times the Bookstore and spots the same zen-like wooden deco as the other shops. One wonders if it's a strategy for them to re-position themselves as an up-market music store, but I welcome their presense in Centrepoint, which has had a drought of a good music store for decades. Incidentally, the next location that needs a good music store is Ngee Ann City.
