As I wrote this review, I am still listening to the CD, for the first time, and I am already impressed. The CD is a 13-track album with 4 music videos playable on VCD players. The album is very professionally produced complete with gloss slip-in cover sheet. Multi-talented pianist/producer KC Lau is the man behind the album. He composes, arranges, mixes, masters, designs and produces the entire album, with some songs collaborated with other musicians. You know how most albums put their best most-impressed songs in the beginning of the CD. But somehow I enjoy his later part of the album better - from track 8 onwards. I don't get to hear a lot of indie albums, but KC Lau's 'Simple Melody' definitely one of the most impressive and listenable 'DIY' Mandarin albums I've heard. This album is available from Pianologist website. |

2 weeks back, I wrote an article featuring Pianologist website. As promised, I received a free CD. So a quick review is in order.
